    03.08.2026: Former Principal of Aryan High School, Mumbai Nilkanth Namjoshi called on the Governor of Maharashtra Jishnu Dev Varma at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai and presented him with a set of three books authored by him. Namjoshi presented the Governor with 'Mogara Phulala Dari', a collection of short stories; 'Smrutigandha', a book compiling his correspondence with eminent personalities from various walks of life; and 'Bheema', a novel that narrates the inspiring story of a tribal girl's achievements and her mother's sacrifices. Members of Namjoshi's family were present on the occasion. Complimenting the author, the Governor said that writing a book gives wings to one's thoughts and enriches the collective wisdom of humanity.

    01.08.2026: Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of state universities Jishnu Dev Varma today launched a tree plantation drive by planting a sapling at the Jamnalal Bajaj Administrative building complex of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and other dignitaries also planted saplings. The Government of India has taken a decision to plant 25 lakh trees in Nagpur district with the objective of tackling the challenges posed by climate change. Minister of State for School Education Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar, Mayor of Nagpur Nita Thackeray, MLA Mohan Mate, MLA Praveen Datke, Deputy Mayor Leelatai Hathibed, Vice Chancellor of RTMNU Dr. Manali Kshirsagar, Pro-VC Dr. Akhilesh Peshwa, Secretary to the Governor Dr. Prashant Naranware, Standing Committee Chairman of the Municipal Corporation Shivani Dani, were among those present.

    31.07.2026: The registration process for the Tata Mumbai Marathon, scheduled to be held on 17 January 2027, was formally launched by State Governor Jishnu Dev Varma in Mumbai. Congratulating the organisers, the Governor noted that the Mumbai Marathon has become the world's largest inclusive marathon in terms of participant numbers. He also expressed satisfaction that the marathon has been instrumental in promoting various social initiatives.  Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command; Lt Gen D. S. Kushwah, GOC, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa Area; MD of Procam International Anil Singh; Joint Director Vivek Singh; and representatives of the marathon's sponsoring organisations were present.

    30.07.2026: The 22nd Convocation Ceremony of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University was held under the chairmanship of the Governor of Maharashtra and Chancellor Jishnu Dev Varma  in Solapur. Former Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe delivered the convocation address. Padma Bhushan Prof. Dr. Jyeshtharaj Joshi was conferred the honorary Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree, while Padma Shri Girish Prabhune was awarded the honorary Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) degree in recognition of their outstanding contributions. The Governor visited the university's Startup and Entrepreneurship Gallery, where he reviewed innovative research projects and entrepreneurial initiatives undertaken by students and faculty. A total of 11,851 students were awarded degrees at the convocation. Additionally, 162 research scholars received their Ph.D. degrees, and 57 students were honoured with Gold Medals for academic excellence.

    29.07.2026: Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma joined by veteran actor Rakesh Bedi and TV and film personality Shiv Thakre today led a 'TB-Free Mumbai' Awareness Rally at Chembur Mumbai. The Rally involving hundreds of volunteers of National Service Scheme passed through the populous areas of Chembur carrying the message of making Mumbai TB free. The Rally was organised at the instance of Maharashtra Lok Bhavan as part of the TB Free Mumbai campaign.  
The programme was jointly organised by the National Service Scheme Cell of the University of Mumbai, Sree Narayan Guru College of Commerce, Chembur, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Bhamla Foundation. Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mumbai Dr. Ravindra Kulkarni, General Secretary of the Sree Narayan Mandir Samiti O. K. Prasad, Secretary to the Governor Dr. Prashant Narnaware, Joint Secretary S. Ramamoorthy, President of the Bhamla Foundation Asif Bhamla, Principal of the College Dr. Jayashree Venkatachalam, and NSS Cell OSD Dr. Sushil Shinde were present.

    27.07.2026: Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis presided over a function to mark the Kargil Vijay Diwas and felicitated the Veer Naris, Veer Matas, Veer Pitas, Jawans injured in the Kargil War and recipients of Gallantry Medals at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai. The Governor released a musical composition based on the lyrics of Kavi Pradeep and rendered by Bharat Balvalli. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, Minister for Cultural Affairs Ashish Shelar, Minister for Tourism and Ex-Servicemen Welfare Shambhuraj Desai, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan, GOC, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa Area Lt Gen D. S. Kushwah and senior officers of the armed forces were present.
